Okay, I recently came across this site called R.ecommended.com with a period after the “R”. At first I thought it was legit. What they do is provide reviews on other peoples products that offer an affiliate program like the ones through Clickbank.com.
I have a product through Clickbank that I offer someone a 50% commission. So everyone that they refer through their affiliate who orders the product, they get half of the sale.
I was happy at first that they were promoting my product and they do seem to offer honest reviews of products. They looked honest about everything until I saw that they were getting many sales lately. Then I also noticed a big LIE that they stated at the end of the review page!
After I noticed a larger than normal affiliate commissions being taking out of my recent sales, I did some inspecting. What I found out was that their review page places some type of tracking cookie on your computer. AND it doesn’t even matter if the are the ones who sent you directly over to purchase your product. So if you happen to be doing a lot of marketing work and they search for reviews on your product to make sure you are legit- the affiliate hijacker will get the commission even if they buy straight through the vender from any type of marketing they are doing.
Now for the next big lie. Near the end of their reviews, they state that you can order the product through the non-affiliate link and that they don’t get a commission- when in fact they do. They do indeed link straight to my sales page without the affiliate link but they will still get the commission. Once you land on their website page, a cookie is downloaded onto your computer.
How do I know this?
Once you decide to order something through a sales page that is sold through the Clickbank payment processor and yo click on the order page to fill out your credit card information, Clickbank shows at the bottom if an affiliate will get a commission. The picture below is what I saw when I went to my order page after visiting the R.ecommended.com page:
