Okay, so I wrote about this before and talked about exposing the fake pagerank link exchanges scam but I didn’t actually expose the websites or the actual email that I got from this person.
Well, guess what. I got another one from a different person but it is the same link exchange firm. I know this because the email format was the same and the sites that they were offering link exchanges from were registered by the same person as before. I check the WhoIS database for this.
This time, the age of the website domains were a little older at about a year and they stated that it had a PR of 4. Sure enough, the indicators showed them as not lying with the PR 4. It is possible to obtain a high Pagerank that quick but the site would have to be very popular and have a lot of quality sites linking to it.
I look at the backlinks for this site also and there isn’t one quality site that links to it. It has about 170 backlinks but most of them are from the same garbage site. This is an ultimate sign of Fake PageRank! Then I looked at the content on the site and its not unique. Its all obtained from article directory sites.
In case you wanted to see the email, I took a snapshot as shown below. Look up the sites and you will see what to stay away from if you get an email like this.
If this has happened to you, please leave a comment. I don’t like seeing people that doing this type of stuff. I also don’t really like blogging about this because it makes people stingy with giving out links to other peoples sites. I do three way linking a lot and it seems like other webmasters aren’t as accepting anymore. Anyway leave a comment and my video marketing service will be offered soon.
You may also attempt providing to write a unique article for the other web site in return for a credit or perhaps a backlink. That way you’re offering them something useful, and also you get a valuable backlink. This kind of link is great simply because you’ll probably be certainly 1 of just a few links on the web page.
