I like to blog about different marketing techniques and pick up on the small things smart marketers are doing even for named brand products. This is a similar observation like the post I wrote before about targeted marketing through radio techniques I noticed when I was driving home one day.
After watching TV a few hours ago, a Kellogg’s cereal commercial came on at about 8:15 PM. It was about a female relaxing and then wanting a chocolate snack at 9:00 at night. Then they showed their Special K Chocolate cereal as a solution.
If you ask me, I think that they displayed this around that time period on purpose. Kellogg’s could have gathered surveys which showed people typically want snacks about this time. This is exactly the time period that I usually get a snack.
Then if you dig down further, the ad showed a female and you always hear that women crave chocolate. This is very good targeting to get in the minds of people at the perfect moment.
Now are they using stereotypes or being sexist? Please note that I am not trying to be offensive and am only pointing out observations based on others. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Do you do all your individual writing? Or do you outsource a few of it? Iām looking for a few comparable content for my blog! These are nice posts!
Thanks š I’d be happy to help. Shoot me an email
